For José, arriving is never the goal. Born and raised in Barranquilla, Colombia, he first earned a bachelor's degree in graphic design, then another in industrial design. He worked in agencies, taught design at the university, did UX research – always searching for a deeper understanding of how design can improve people’s lives. His curiosity led him to Wismar, Germany, where he completed a Master's degree in Architectural Lighting Design, then to Bremen, where he learned 2D animation, and finally to Zurich, where he returned to his design roots. Well - «finally». Of course, he didn't stay put for long. Like when he set off on a bike ride all the way to the Arctic Circle – and then added a full tour of Iceland for good measure.
Today, José brings not only his broad design expertise to our office, but also his calming presence. But on the weekends, as we all know, he's on the move again: diving into 12-hour design workshops, learning music production, or sketching in his notebook in some café, capturing the absurdity of everyday life with keen observation and his sense of humor. Because José is always curious. And never quite done.
